Bloody Mary shrimp are the pinnacle of red neocaridina breeding, a selectively developed variant prized for their deep, wine-red to chocolate-red colouration. Unlike Red Cherries, the colour in Bloody Marys is carried in the muscle tissue rather than just the shell, producing a uniquely dense, opaque red that does not fade or look washed out. They are among the most visually impactful freshwater shrimp available and are particularly striking under warm aquarium lighting.
